Community Media Assets

Community Media Assets is the shared media library for application- or community-owned assets that are not owned by one company. It is available to authorized Experts and Application Administrators.

Open Community Media Assets.

Use a company's Media Assets page for company-owned files. The Community Media Assets page deliberately has no selected-company header because its ownership scope is application/community data.

Find assets

Search by title, description, tags, or identifier. Available filters include:

  • media kind;
  • asset type;
  • storage type;
  • used or unused status;
  • uploaded-from and uploaded-to dates;
  • sort by update time, upload time, name, size, usage, or type.

Select Apply to run the filters and Reset filters to return to the default list.

Manage assets

According to role and asset state, the page can support creating a shared asset, selecting visible or all filtered assets, exporting selected records, updating relationships, moving ownership, or deleting assets.

Deletion is permanent and removes product links to the asset. Read the confirmation carefully and verify ownership and current use before deleting shared media.

Bulk selection can target either explicit records or every record matching the applied filters. Confirm the selection count and filters before a destructive or relationship-changing action.

Common mistakes

  • Do not upload company-owned media into the community library merely to make it easier to find.
  • Do not treat “unused” as proof that deletion is safe without checking references and business purpose.
  • Do not confuse moving ownership with copying an asset; ownership changes which management rules apply.
  • Date filters use upload dates, not necessarily the date the asset was first used by a product.
